Biggest Winners from Week 1

1. Florida
This game was more than just an upset over a very good top 10 team in Utah. Florida looks like they've found their coach and a quarterback. Both are needed for program success and the future looks a lot brighter for Florida than it did a week ago.

2. Penn State
Penn State had a very underrated win at Purdue on Thursday night. Purdue won 9 games last year and returned an experienced quarterback and a good coach. It was the Penn State quarterback that came through on Thursday when it counted which is a good sign for the Nittany Lions.

3. Arizona
Arizona was our next to last ranked Power 5 program going into the season. A road trip to San Diego State didn't look good for the Wildcats and Vegas had Aztecs as nearly a touchdown favorite. A comfortable 18 point win, despite blocking their own punt for a touchdown, was a good sign that Arizona is improved this year.

4. Big 12 and the ACC Playoff Hopes
The Pac 12's playoff hopes took a huge hit with Oregon getting demolished by Georgia and Utah getting upset against Florida. Combine that with Notre Dame losing and the door is wide open for a one-loss Big 12 or ACC champ.

5. Notre Dame
Sometimes a loss isn't so bad. Nobody is going to want to see Oregon in the playoffs after the 46 beat-down from Georgia, but Notre Dame went toe-to-toe with Ohio State in Columbus. They probably need to win out, but not getting blown out was crucial for the Irish. They succeeded despite a lot of predictions to the contrary, including ours.
